This weekend the Mountain Wave Yokonori* Free Style Session will be held at Hakuba 47.
For three days (April 9 to 11) you’ll be able to ride the specially-designed Mountain Wave course – all banks and sidehits – on snowboards, snowskates and yuki ita. The pro rider guest list is massive and they can always be counted on to throw out some stylish moves to get you inspired. With an emphasis on flow and style, the riding is relatable and fun. We had a blast last year at Mountain Wave 2015 and just about managed to stop lapping long enough to take a few photos:
Methods are so hot right now, and fittingly this sidehit style-fest has the ‘all-Japan’ method contest. Last year, entry was open to anyone, so here’s your chance to see how your method ranks against the pros. If that’s not your thing, you can always try out some of next year’s gear at the various demo tents.
Event entry is 1500 yen, not including lift ticket. Full info on the Mountain Wave Facebook page. On the nights of the 9th and 11th, there will be parties at Tracks Bar. On the 9th, DJ Yogurt will be guest DJing. On the 11th, there will be special performances by Green Shit-81 and Saki & the factor.
See you there!
